Curtis Eye Care Optometrist, located at 2155 84th Street SW Byron Center, MI is looking to hire someone for our Lab Technician / Optician position. We are an 18-person strong team and growing. The perfect candidate is self-motivated, ambitious, engaged, has a positive attitude and is attentive to detail.
Job Description: Maintaining daily lab duties and optician as needed.
REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE:
Ability to understand the patient’s need for eyewear. Ability to fit patients for eyeglasses including using proper material, frame size, and measurements. Understand billing out medical and vision insurance. Have experience in optical sales.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Proven skills in English language, spelling, grammar, punctuation and editing
· Ability to learn new computer software quickly and accurately (Officemate/Exam Writer experience is a plus but not required)
· Excellent collaboration, listening, communicating, patient interaction and teamwork skills are a must
· Some lab experience is a plus but not required
· Process lab orders, balance invoices and credits for frames, lenses, and contacts
· Process returns
· Monitor and order lab supplies as needed
· Dispense, adjust, fit, and sell glasses
· Correspond with the lab on patient’s orders, check in shipment daily,
· Monitor contact lens trial inventory, order as needed
· Edge lenses, quality inspect eyeglasses, and notify patients
· Scan documents as needed
· Fill in as an optician as needed
JOB TYPE: Full-time
SALARY: $17.00-$21.00 per hour
