Position Summary
The House Manager is a direct care staff in a supervisory role responsible for overseeing the operations of a single Supported Living Services (SLS) home. They coordinate care and support for adult clients aged 18–59, maintain safety and well-being within the home, guide staff, and ensure implementation of clients’ Individual Support Plans (ISP). They act as the primary liaison between the home and the Operations Manager, managing day-to-day activities, staff supervision, and client progress.
Core Responsibilities
Direct Support & Client Services
- Maintain constant supervision and ensure client safety
- Implement needs and services plans per the ISP
- Assist clients in developing, reaching goals, and resolving issues
- Teach daily living and independent skills
- Ensure client hygiene and cleanliness
- Dispense and document medications per Title 22 and internal policy
- Prepare meals and support client nutrition
- Provide transportation to and from activities
- Use verbal de-escalation and manage behavior
- Support clients with personal care (eating, dressing, toileting)
- Complete required daily documentation and incident reports
- Report concerns and unusual events to the Operations Manager
- Participate in planning with responsible parties and agencies
Administrative Duties
- Prepare and review staff timecards bi-weekly
- Manage and protect clients’ financial resources
Training Duties
- Attend All Hands Meetings and other required trainings
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Ensure operational success within the assigned house
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to execute agreed objectives
- Validate completion of house-level goals and directives
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
Experience
- Experience in a care setting preferred
Certifications (Required or to be obtained upon hire):
- CPR
- First Aid
- Water Safety
- DSP I & II
- PCM (Professional Crisis Management) or equivalent
- Valid California Driver’s License
- Curtis Homes driver training certification
Other Requirements
- Ability to pass Live Scan background check
- Ability to be insured to operate company vehicles
- Physically able to manage behaviors and provide client care
