Position Overview
Curtis Homes is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Interior Designer to bring residential spaces to life with thoughtful design and curated selections. This role is responsible for ensuring that every home reflects our commitment to timeless style, functionality, and quality. The Interior Designer will collaborate closely with customers, architects, project managers, and vendors to create cohesive and aesthetically compelling interiors that align with customer preferences, budget, and our company’s design standards.
This role requires a highly skilled and organized designer with a strong understanding of materials, finishes, color theory, and space planning. The Interior Designer will guide customers through the selection process, manage product procurement, and ensure seamless integration of design elements throughout the construction process.

Responsibilities
This role includes, but is not limited to:
- Develop and execute interior design concepts that align with Curtis Homes’ commitment to timeless and high-quality design.
- Guide customers through the semi-custom design process, including material and finish selections, ensuring alignment with their vision and budget.
- Accompany customers to local selection providers to assist in choosing finishes, fixtures, and other design elements.
- Work closely with project managers and vendors to confirm pricing, shipping, and installation timelines, resolving any issues as needed.
- Upload and maintain up-to-date BuilderTrend profiles for all assigned lots, ensuring accurate design selections and documentation.
- Assist with customer change order requests by coordinating adjustments, obtaining approvals, and updating project documentation accordingly.
- Coordinate with architects, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure design elements and materials are accurately implemented throughout the construction process.
- Prepare and present design proposals, mood boards, and material samples to customers for approval.
- Maintain and update design standards to reflect current trends, industry best practices, and Curtis Homes’ brand identity.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Conduct site visits to oversee installations and address design-related challenges during construction.
- Stay informed on industry trends, new materials, and sustainable design practices to continuously enhance Curtis Homes’ offerings.
- Provide a seamless and enjoyable customer experience by balancing creative vision with practical solutions and budget considerations.
- Be open and willing to take on additional tasks as assigned to support company objectives.
Desired Skills, Education, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field (preferred).
- 3 years of experience in residential interior design, preferably in custom or semi-custom home construction.
- Experience working with customers through the design selection process, from concept to completion.
- Familiarity with construction processes, materials, and project timelines.
- Previous experience using BuilderTrend or similar project management software (preferred).
- Knowledge of local and national building codes, design standards, and industry regulations.
- Strong design sensibility with an understanding of timeless and functional residential aesthetics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to guide customers through the design process.
- Ability to balance creative vision with budget constraints and project timelines.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for tracking selections, orders, and change requests.
- Experience working with vendors and suppliers to coordinate pricing, availability, and delivery of materials.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address issues related to materials, installations, and customer change requests.
- Ability to interpret architectural and construction drawings.
- Collaborative mindset, working effectively with customers, project managers, contractors, and vendors.
- Knowledge of industry trends, new materials, and sustainable design practices.
