Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean of Student Services, the Coordinator of Residence Life and Off-Campus Housing provides coordination and leadership for residential programs and services that support students living in Lenfest Hall and off-campus. The Office of Residence Life provides a broad range of student development functions to create safe, supportive, and inclusive living environments that engage students in furthering their success, personal growth, leadership development, and commitment to social responsibility and community engagement.
This position is responsible for residential student conduct, the selection, ongoing training, and assessment of resident coordinators (RCs) in conjunction with the Senior Associate Dean of Student Services, resident programming, budget oversight, and the establishment of structures, policies, and basic operations for the department. Curtis acknowledges the unique set of responsibilities and time commitment for this position. The position requires a living presence in Lenfest Hall and must serve as part of the on-call staff for emergencies and crisis response.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Provide coordination and direction for the Office of Residence Life
- Respond to crisis and critical incidents as needed; serve on a 24 / 7 crisis response team
- Promote cultural awareness and engage a diverse student body
- Counsel students as needed and mediate student issues and conflicts
- Develop, implement, and execute programs and policies which encourage a safe, healthy, and positive student experience
- Oversee departmental budget and monitor spending for all staff members in residence life
- Maintain residence life website and off-campus housing site
- Develop, maintain, and communicate policies for the office of residence life; update residence life handbook as needed
- Monitor current trends in residence life to determine potential application or impact to residence life and Curtis
- Participates in and support campus-wide activities, programs, and traditions at Curtis
- Serve as Campus Security Authority in compliance with the Jean Clery Act and a mandatory reporter for Title IX
- Manage residential student behavior through adjudicating residence life policy violations, issue sanctions as needed in coordination with Senior Associate Dean of Student Services
