What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hot Stamp Operator position at Curtis Packaging Corporation?
Reports to: Cutting & Creasing Supervisor
Working Relationships: C&C Supervisor, Feeder Operators, Q.C, Strippers, Material Handler, Baler, and Die room
Primary Responsibility: Responsible for the performance of manual and machine tasks in the set up, maintenance, and operation of die cut equipment to accurately produce product to customer specifications.
Major Duties:
- Read job bag to determine setup specifications and instructions follow instructions accurately.
- Set the feeder head and feed table
- Platen Unit – Put counter plates down.
- Lock die in die chase.
- Set Stripping unit – top and bottom.
- Set photo cell lights.
- Set upper blanker unit and lower blanker unit.
- Set delivery.
- Observe and monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and to determine whether adjustments are needed.
- Perform routine adjustments during the press run and maintain production throughout the run.
- Open machine and remove/replace damaged product, using hand tools.
- Follow all standard operating procedures relevant to the job, position and department.
- Performs all assigned work effectively and on schedule.
- Maintain records of daily production, using specified forms
- Keep work area neat and clean.
- Daily/weekly/monthly maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Follow established department policies, procedures, work instructions and safety and environmental guidelines.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
