What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Driver position at Curtis Trailers?
Job Duties:
1. Maneuvering motor homes, travel trailers, fifth wheels and campers by use of a dolly and forklift into and out of service bays and parking spaces.
2. Organizing sales lot inventory.
3. Spotting and assisting other drivers by communicating through radio to safely move trailers.
4. Perform daily safety inspections of equipment and inform manager of any deficiencies.
5. Assist in maintaining lot and shop cleanliness by parking trailers in an organized manner, sweeping, using a leaf blower, lot sweeper, etc.
6. Driving customers tow vehicles to service bays for necessary repairs.
7. Assisting technicians by bringing them repair parts and helping with minor repairs when necessary.
8. Locking all service trailers nightly.
9. Assisting sales staff with the hook up of new customers trailers to their tow vehicles.
10. Hauling motor homes, travel trailers, fifth wheels and campers to our other sales lot and storage lots when needed.
11. Test towing travel trailers and fifth wheels with potential brake issues and performing a burnishing procedure after brake work has been completed.
Qualifications:
1. 1 years of forklift experience required.
2. RV towing and backing experience preferred.
3. Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record required.
4. Ability to work fast-paced while maintaining safety consciousness.
5. Must pass pre-employment drug test.
Physical & Mental Requirements: Strong attention to detail. Takes direction well. Quick learner. Ability to climb stairs and ladders. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., bend, stretch, sit and stand for extended periods of time.
Environmental & Working Conditions: Mainly outdoors in all weather conditions. Occasionally in a shop setting that can be noisy.
