Job Description:
The Production Planning Manager will lead and drive capacity planning and priority planning for all work centers, developing a cohesive relationship amongst stakeholders to adhere to on-time delivery of order processing to meet customer demands.
This role is responsible for overall planning, coordination, and execution of production planning and scheduling on a day-to-day basis to control and support end-to-end supply chain. You will spend 50% or more of your time on the floor smoothing out production plans, work center capacity/loads, optimizing inventory allocations, prioritizing incoming inspections, assembly inspections, stockroom picking, and external parts supply to ensure sustainability to production plan adherence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviews released and planned to be released manufacturing orders, distribution orders, and sub-contract orders to consolidate and optimize capacity planning, priority planning, detailed scheduling, and material allocation to achieve a proficient MO Processing Plan.
- Provides planning guidance and support to assembly line SMEs, Leaders, and overall operations execution team personnel on a daily basis with complete objectives and transparency.
- Addresses, optimizes, mitigates, and solves material and inventory supply to support total adherence of Manufacturing orders, Intercompany Distributions orders, and overall planning execution problems with a broad perspective to identify and drive solutions.
- Engages in processing ECOs, releasing Rework MOS for various projects, represents planning participation in DMR/MDR process, represents planning participation in daily GEMBA/production walk, and represents planning in various projects run by Project managers.
- Proactively works to maintain master schedule integrity by identifying, expediting, and optimizing supply material into meeting the production plan wherever possible and elevates issues immediately in the event of plan failure for re-scheduling.
- Reviews, evaluates, and manages ETQ action items specific to planning on a daily basis.
- Reports On-time delivery, production adherence, and material status on a daily basis to lead production smoothening and customer fulfillment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Supply Chain, or relevant Associate Degree with 7-10 years experience in Planning, Supply chain in customer-focused manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge in Infor M3 ERP/MRP software which drives sales, customer demands, planning, purchasing, product structures, and order fulfillment.
- Strong data analytics and mathematical skills. Working knowledge in analytical tools.
- Expert communication and strong interpersonal skills able to work with diverse groups of colleagues.
- Comprehensive knowledge of smarteam, engineering change, E-ticket, ETQ (Excellence Through Quality) process.
