Service Operations Technician
Under minimal supervision, the Service Operations Tech performs a variety of service operations tasks, including performing rework and quality testing of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies, and collecting data and identifying trends and working with Manufacturing Operations team to correct assembly, routing and process documentation.

Your Challenge:
- Perform component level diagnostic testing on PacStar products
- Trouble shoot and perform repairs at the component level
- Must possess fine pitch SMD soldering/de-soldering skills
- Basic mechanical disassembly/reassembly skills
- Work closely with manufacturing and product engineering teams
- Assist in field failure root cause analysis
- Track production line failures
- Participate in the inspection and evaluation of first-articles
- Record and manage non-conforming components
- On occasion, modify test procedures and/or design based on debugging work findings
- Present status to Production, Purchasing and Engineering teams
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
- Performance requires physical attendance
- Other duties as assigned
What you bring
- 5 years in a product company environment as an engineering technician, manufacturing technician, service technician or other similar position
- AA/AS in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience preferred
- Experience with relevant ISO, Six Sigma and MIL standards is helpful
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, and wiring diagrams
- Experience with measurement and inspection tools:
- Oscilloscope
- Multimeter
- Network analyzer
- Digital signal generators
- Variable power supply
- Other diagnostic tools relevant to assigned task
- A subset of the following skills:
- Strong structured debugging skills
- Basic electronics trouble shooting particularly low voltage/wattage power systems
- Ability to operate Digital Volt Meters, Variable Power Supplies, and electronic loads
- Circuit board inspection
- Basic soldering skills particularly for cables and connectors
- Cable inspection/test
- Simple cable repair/assembly
- Mechanical assembly skills
- Familiar with measurements and standards for both machined and bent sheet metal parts
- Familiar with metal fabrication technics
- Familiarity with Cisco Networking Equipment (Basic CLI commands)
- Competent with computer operating systems (Windows, Linux)
- Familiar with virtualization (ESXI)
- Scripting skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail is a must
- Must be able to self-organize workloads and manage all deadlines
