- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, English, or a related field — AND/OR at least three years of experience with a proven record of success in one or several of these fields.
- Prior experience in journalism, marketing, or communications, or other roles involving external and internal communications, content development, and content promotion.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to distill complex topics into easy-to-understand, compelling write ups.
- Strong copywriting and editing skills; strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Background in the AEC (architecture, engineering, and construction) industry.
- Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, etc.) and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Knowledge of social media marketing best practices; including, but not limited to, creative thinking and writing, understanding conversion tactics, ability to connect and engage with a targeted audience, and tailoring message length/formatting to varied platforms.
- Basic to intermediate experience with WordPress or other web-based content management systems.
- Experience implementing digital marketing and social media campaigns.
- Understanding of the importance and maintenance of cross-platform consistency and voice.
- Ability to identify actionable insights from digital analytics tools.
- Ability and propensity to learn new tools, if no prior experience, such as Teams, Canva, OpenAsset, HubSpot, InDesign, and CMS platforms.
- Ability to work independently on projects as well as in a group/team dynamic.
- Highly motivated team player with a willingness to share ideas, take direction, and accept feedback.
- Highly organized with good time-management and critical-thinking skills and ability to manage overlapping deadlines.
- Critical thinking and investigative journalism skills are a plus.
- Some knowledge of SEO best practices.

As a Team Member at Cushing Terrell, you will*…
- Write, edit, design, and coordinate content (blogs, media features, case studies, testimonials, and more) for electronic and print distribution.
- Work directly with the Content Development Manager to create, schedule, distribute, and analyze content for social media.
- Assist with website content development and upkeep.
- Assist with intranet content maintenance.
- Support podcast promotion through webpage updates (add episodes and transcripts, draft guest bios and episode descriptions, and promote new episodes via social media).
- Ensure brand consistency across all channels in terms of graphics, voice, and messaging.
- Assist in surfacing insights to identify opportunities to reach new audiences, optimize existing content, gain strategic awareness, and expand services.
- Report on trends and conduct competitive research; recommend changes to marketing and business development strategies/tactics based on analysis and feedback.
- Leverage in-person and Zoom/Teams interviews as well as marketing software and the CRM platform to extract project and team information for digital storytelling.
- Find creative ways to engage clients and followers on social media and other appropriate digital platforms to generate new leads, maintain client/follower relationships, promote the firm’s services, and recruit new team members.
- Work with vertical market teams and service sector leaders to generate and promote thought leadership.
- Work with the marketing team and business development leads to track projects and project milestones for opportunities to share internally and externally.
- Think creatively and innovatively and bring new ideas to the table.

Your pay
The salary for this position is based on the location/s posted. If you are a candidate living outside of (this region/these regions), we still encourage you to apply as salary ranges may differ across states/cities/job markets.
- Expected Range*: $60,000 to $80,000
- The position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus
*The actual salary offered for the role will be determined based on various factors including but not limited to; years of experience, certifications, location, level of job-related knowledge, and other job-related factors (as permitted by law).
