Job Description Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor provides leadership and direction at a key client site to a team of maintenance technicians supporting building operations, maintenance services, central utility plant, and facility related projects as directed by the client. This site is pharmaceutical research manufacturing facility consisting of multiple buildings totaling over 1,500,000 square feet of office, research, and manufacturing space. This position must ensure that repairs and preventative maintenance of the facility and its equipment, are completed on schedule, meet the regulatory requirements, with minimal operational interruptions to our client. The maintenance Supervisor will report to the Account Director.

Other duties may be assigned. Management also reserves the right to change or modify this position description from time to time to meet the needs of the account, site and / or building(s). Job Description

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Pay : $40hr-$50hr.
  • Knowledge and experience in pharmaceutical research, development, and manufacturing GxP environment.
  • Direct and supervise the maintenance staff in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Coordinate and lead trades engaged in the maintenance of facilities and equipment.
  • Provide leadership and motivation of employees by communicating core beliefs and values. Create a positive work environment through fairness and equality.
  • Inspect work activities to ensure employees are following prescribed procedures to meet safety, quality, and production standards.
  • Plan operations and shutdowns to establish priorities utilizing knowledge of trades and workforce requirements.
  • Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to optimize facilities solutions for cost and reliability.
  • Confer and meet with customers to determine equipment availability for maintenance services.
  • Assign and delegate responsibility for specified work to meet Company standards.
  • Review / analyze daily information reports, records, directives and confer with other supervisors to obtain data required for planning department activities, such as new work commitments, status of work in progress and problem solving.
  • Prepare, review, and evaluate downtime reports and resolve operation, manufacturing, and maintenance problems / issues to reduce costs and prevent process delays.

Managerial Responsibilities

  • Manages all site maintenance functions, is responsible for the overall direction, planning, coordination, and execution of work on schedule. The Maintenance Supervisor carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving issues.

  • Role models safety culture. Implements safety program at the site level. Performs regular safety inspections and observations. Provides safety resources, implements programs and policies, and resolves safety issues. Directs security procedures; Performs security inspections / audits and conducts drills.

  • Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent industry or military experience.
  • 10 years' experience in a large-scale biotech or pharmaceutical field in the areas of manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, or analytical & process development.
  • 5 years' experience with Managing Maintenance and Engineering with increasing levels of responsibility and have a good understanding of all trades, current best practices, GMP & GLP quality practices, and common issues addressed by maintenance.
  • Must have actively and cooperatively collaborated with cross functional teams.
  • Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical persons at all levels.
  • Ability to conduct Client presentations.
  • Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and set direction.
  • Computer skills, including database management and project management tools. Strong background in CMMS (SAP preferred).
