Daily Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to the schedule set by the General Manager, executing all assigned duties and responsibilities.
- Perform daily tasks including opening and closing procedures, cash drawer management, stocking, and cleaning.
- Engage with each patron using your unique personality, providing attentive service that makes them feel welcomed while efficiently meeting their needs.
- Maintain awareness of your surroundings to ensure all guests receive timely service.
- Ensure that all beers on tap are served at the correct temperature and quality, free from off-smells or flavors.
- Acquire knowledge about our craft beer, confidently addressing customers’ questions about the brewery and our offerings.
- Learn and enforce regulations set by the Alcoholic Beverage Commission, including checking IDs and managing over-consumption.
- Maintain a clean taproom and bar area, including the walk-in cooler, patio, restrooms, and production areas.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of taproom operations by providing timely feedback to Taproom Management and brewery owners.
- Foster a pleasant taproom atmosphere by managing temperature, music, cleanliness, and overall conduct.
- Serve as a brand ambassador for Cushwa Brewing Co.
Qualifications:
- Prior bartending or service experience is highly preferred.
- Availability to work nights and weekends; punctuality is essential.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people and provide exceptional customer service.
- Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
- Basic knowledge of craft beer and an understanding of beer production.
- Familiarity with POS systems (such as Toast) is a plus.
- Ability to lift 35-50 lbs. (primarily kegs and cases).
- Energetic, personable, and eager to learn about our beers and taproom operations.
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure and take initiative.
Working Conditions:
This position requires the ability to work in various circumstances, including shift work, weekends, and managing challenging patrons. Be prepared for the fast-paced environment of a crowded taproom and the proximity to an operating brewery, which may involve noise, heavy equipment, and brewing-related odors.
Physical Requirements:
Beertenders must be able to stand for extended periods and walk throughout their shifts. They may also need to lift boxes and cases weighing 35-50 lbs. and move full or empty kegs using a dolly.
