Job description
The Closing team at CUSO Home Lending is responsible for ensuring that mortgage loans close timely and with accuracy. The Closing Specialist position will be responsible for monitoring closing reports, communicating with settlement agents, and preparing closing documentation that complies with all investor and CUSO regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, and be highly organized, detail oriented and able to work independently.
Job Duties:
- Monitor reports to track target closing dates
- Issue Draft Closing Disclosures within federally mandated timeframes
- Obtain reverification of employment prior to closing date
- Work with insurance agents to obtain required homeowners insurance documentation
- Track acknowledgement of Closing Disclosures by borrowers within federally mandated timeframes
- Issue closing instructions to the settlement agent
- Prepare final closing documents
- Work with CUSO’s Accounting department and the settlement agent to ensure accurate funding
- Stay current in knowledge of software, company products, rates and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain compliance with and adhere to all state and federal regulations and company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, FACT ACT, Community Reinvestment Act, and EEO/AA/Fair Employment Practices.

Experience:
- Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
- Mortgage Loan Documentation: 2 years (Preferred)
