What are the responsibilities and job description for the Header Bay Supervisor- Night Shift position at CUST-O-FAB?
Cust-O-Fab, a leader in the design and manufacturing of shell and tube heat exchangers, vessels, towers, and other heat transfer components, in the petrochemical industry for 50 years is currently seeking a night shift Header Bay Supervisor in our Catoosa location.
Position Summary:
Lead manufacturing team and suppliers in the construction of boxed headers and the assembled of bundles for air-cooled heat exchangers. This role requires expertise in managing production schedules, cost controls, and quality assurance to meet the high standards of the petrochemical industry.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Production Schedule Management: Help create and manage the production schedule for both shops to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery.
2. Cost Control and Quality Assurance: Ensure solid cost controls are in place and regularly review actual job performance to guarantee quality and value.
3. Supplier Management: Visit sub-contract suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and timeliness are in-line with expectations.
4. Leadership and Communication: Directly lead supervision and department shop personnel as required, maintain high levels of communication with Engineering, Purchasing, and Project Management to minimize costs and ensure on-time delivery.
Required Qualifications:
1. Technical Background: Technical degree preferred or 10 year relevant industry experience.
2. Supervisory Experience: 5-7 years' experience directly supervising the welding of boxed headers.
3. Welding and Metallurgy Knowledge: Understanding of the costing elements in labor and material required to build headers and bundles, knowledge of ASME VIII section 1 for boxed headers and hydrotest requirements, welding and metallurgies for boxed header production.
4. Business Acumen: Ability to implement efficient methods of boxed header manufacturing, ability to read and understand prints and specifications, ability to understand PQR and WPS requirements and plan workforce and testing accordingly.
5. Team Management: Ability to effectively supervise and manage workforce, positive working relationship with sales, quality, engineering, purchasing and customers.
