Custer County is currently accepting applications for a full-time Deputy Auditor – Accounts Payable Clerk. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The position includes a variety of financial and administrative responsibilities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, state liquor license processing (new and renewal applications), budget reporting, and supporting election activities.
The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent customer service skills, strong multitasking abilities, and the confidence to work independently when needed. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt quickly to meet the needs of the office and public.
This is a full-time position with a Monday–Friday schedule (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM), starting at $17.00 per hour with county benefits. The position reports to the Finance Officer.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with college coursework preferred. 1–2 years of administrative or accounting experience in government or the public sector is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong communication skills, and a commitment to quality service are highly valued.
