Deputy Finance Officer

Custer County is currently accepting applications for a full-time Deputy Finance Officer. This leadership-level role is ideal for someone who is professional, detail-oriented, and experienced in financial management and team supervision. The position plays a vital role in supporting both the Auditor and Treasurer Offices and includes a variety of responsibilities such as budgeting, financial reporting, tax levy calculations, and daily oversight of office operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and the confidence to manage a team while working independently. This position requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively interact with staff, elected officials, and the public.

This is a full-time position with a Monday–Friday schedule (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM), with a salary range of $21.63–$24.04 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. County benefits are included. The position reports to the Finance Officer.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field, with a minimum of five years of experience in government finance or a comparable combination of education and experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong leadership and financial skills, and a commitment to service excellence are highly valued.
