Job Title: Masking Technician
Job Description:
- You will be responsible for masking aerospace parts using maskant, masking tape, plugs, and other materials to prevent paint from covering required areas.
- Prepare parts for masking, including hand wiping, using compressed air tools, and chemical cleaning.
- Follow production work orders, documents, drawings, specifications, and written or oral instructions to meet production requirements.
- Maintain and manage all consumables within the masking and stripping process (e.g., cleaning solvents, sealants).
- Perform tasks in both Foreign Object Debris (FOD) critical and FOD-sensitive environments, ensuring all assemblies and detail parts are free of FOD and non-conformance issues.
- Responsibilities include cleaning, masking, stripping, packaging, and inspecting parts to ensure quality standards are met.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
Required Skills:
- Experience working with hand tools and masking materials (small paint tools, tapes, plugs).
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and work with fine details.
- Previous experience with chemical conversion and masking in aerospace is preferred.
- Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing standards (e.g., NADCAP, AS9100) is a plus.
