We are currently looking for determined candidates to fill either an entry level or certified diesel/trailer technician position in our maintenance shop. The position is responsible for maintenance and repairs of tractors and trailers. This is a genuine opportunity for an aspiring or experienced technician to hone their skills in a fleet that is unique to industry.
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday
- 1st Shift
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Tractors:
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid level checks
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and computer software
- Carry out scheduled and unscheduled repairs, ensuring minimal downtime for our fleet
- Using MCK’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
- Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to prioritize and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
- Comply with all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment
- Keeping your work area clean and safe
- Learning new skills through MCK’s technician training or other approved courses
- Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
Trailers
- Experience with fabrication and building specialized platforms for cargo management
- Welding and fabrication certifications preferred
- Inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing trailer bodies, systems, and components.
- Performing preventative maintenance measures trailers.
- Maintaining hubs and axles and adjusting or replacing them when required.
- Inspecting, servicing, and replacing trailer parts, including tires.
- Checking and repairing the brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Testing all systems and equipment for performance issues.
- Ensuring that trailers meet the U.S. Department of Transportation's road safety requirements.
- Compiling inspection reports, documenting repairs, and reporting all findings to management.
Other Qualifications:
- Reading and writing
- Technical training in related fields
- Ability to learn basic mechanical tasks
- Expertise in welding preferred but not required
- ASE certification preferred but not required
- Ability to learn basic mechanical tasks
- CDL-A preferred but not required
