Custom Calibration Solutions, LLC is a US based calibration firm with four US laboratories. We are seeking a talented individual to work in our main lab in Hamilton, NJ. The applicant would attend to ship-in calibration jobs in Hamilton in addition to onsite calibration events local to NJ. The main area of focus for this individual would be free space optics and fiber optic calibration, but the role will not be limited to these disciplines.
Responsibilities:
-Perform calibration and testing on a diversity of equipment described below
-Navigate to and from jobsites
-Interface between customers and Custom-Cal admin to reach desired outcomes
Skills: On the job "over the shoulder" training will be provided, but the applicant should have a familiarity with all the below devices. You must have prior calibration experience. Resumes without prior metrology experience will not be considered. The following are organized in order of most importance to least importance. The stronger your metrology background the higher your compensation will be.
-Strong technical knowledge of optical calibration/instrumentation including optical power meters (free space and fiber optic), optical energy meters (free space and fiber optic), attenuators, wavelength meters, spectrum analyzers, extinction ratio meters, return loss meters, polarization scramblers/controllers, laser sources, others.
- Familiarity with high voltage and low voltage power testing equipment and calibration (hipot tester, AC electronic load, DC electronic load, power supplies, current shunts, LCR meter, static meter, Clamp-on meter, calibrator, digital multimeter, decade resistor, dataloggers, ohmmeter, voltmeter)
- Familiarity with thermal and physical dimension calibration (environmental chambers, humidity monitor, torque wrenches, torque screwdrivers, torque testers, thermocouple meter, scales, thermocouples, height gauge)
- Familiarity with microwave insturment calibration (oscilloscopes, frequency counter, pulse generator, waveform generator, probes)
