Job Description : Under general supervision, the employee is responsible for administration and performance of Quality Department activities. General duties within the department include : Administration of company policies; employee training; quality and continuous improvement of departmental operations and processes; establishing departmental objectives and plans in accordance with company goals; and implementation of departmental plans; management of internal and external audits; improvement of quality performance metrics through continuous improvement initiative, activities and events. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage all quality operations, either directly or through subordinates, for the purpose of establishing and meeting goals for production, quality, cost, and safety objectives;
- Responsible for establishing, monitoring, and maintaining company quality management system; including administration of manuals, procedures, work instructions and related quality system documentation;
- Responsible for FAA compliance under CFR Part 21, including PMA, 8130-3 tag compliance, training of personnel in FAA requirements
- Provides work direction and technical assistance for Quality and Manufacturing Engineers, Technicians, and Inspectors;
- Establishes appropriate inspection oversight, including sampling procedures
- Interacts regularly with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing and other Operations departments to establish quality standards and reporting requirements for raw materials, work in progress, outside processing, finished products, and warranty returns;
- Develops and maintains personnel requirements for department and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, Hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems;
- Sustains Management Review process, Material Review Board system, Corrective Action system, Continuous Improvement activities, Warranty returns, Approved Supplier List, and Internal Audit program;
- Supports outside audits performed by customers and regulatory bodies to industry standards including AS9100, CE, UL, ATEX, et cetera;
- Leads PPAP development where required by customer contract, including FMEA's, Control Plans, and Gage R&R's
- Performs tasks equal to or exceeding standards with a high commitment to task;
- Conducts daily activities with a strong leadership presence and high sense of responsibility and ownership;
- Builds strong team across department boundaries;
- Develops team members understanding of Quality Policies and Procedures;
- Conducts effective training on procedure and policy changes;
- Communicates effectively with all levels of the organization;
- Working consistently, working overtime and traveling as required
- Conducts themselves in a business-like and civil manner
- Ability to react to changes productively and perform other essential tasks as assigned.
