Production Supervisor
Reports To: Shift Manager
Job Summary:
The Production Line Supervisor directs production employees by planning and assigning their work, administers and enforces policies and procedures (GMP, SSOP, HACCP), and recommends improvements in production methods while maintaining safe, sanitary working conditions for their employees.
*Safety sensitive due to working in different processes; using different tools, equipment, and machineries; lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure effective employee relations by walking the line and getting to know each employee. Resolve employee issues through problem solving and provide coaching and training to employees. Bi-lingual skills are essential for this requirement. Non-bilingual candidates must demonstrate increased skill sets to overcome this barrier.
- Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Works to continuously manage and improve the products and processes.
- Manages departmental measures, such as absenteeism, turnover, production paperwork. Completes accurate and timely execution of line sheets and accompanying pound sheets., if applicable.
- Helps develop objectives and standards for individual production lines and monitors result for process improvements.
- Offers advice and input into the hiring process by working with Human Resources to select the best candidate for their open positions.
- Observes their own work area as well as the plant to ensure that known hazards are reported or corrected, and that all safety reporting and accident investigations are handled in a timely manner. Knowledge of OSHA 1910 standards and HACCP, GPM and SSOP are essential.
- Computer skills are necessary to perform and maintain production reporting.
- Required to wear issued personal protective equipment.
Requirements:
- Should have proficient computer skills with a basic understanding of Microsoft excel and Word.
- Must have knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Prefer candidates to hold a bachelor’s degree with 2-3 years supervisory experience. (Equivalent work experience may be substituted for this requirement.).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
