What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Superintendent position at CUSTOM FACILITIES?
Custom Facilities, the national leader in automotive Design/Build and dealership construction for over 45 years, has an immediate opening for a full-time, Commercial Project Manager/Superintendent who is highly motivated and eager to learn as we work to complete our latest projects all over the country.
Responsibilities:
- Manage projects as assigned by the Vice President or his representative
- Responsible for oversight of On-site day to day construction
- Must have exemplary Superintendent skills coupled with extensive Project Manager abilities
- Manage submittals of project documents including customer approval drawings, technical queries, variation orders, project management actions, and engineering actions
- Review architectural design plans for image compliant brand specifications
- Responsible for scheduling and cost controls
- Identify issues early and works to develop solutions
- Estimate and provide complete project bids
- Read and understand project drawings and specifications
- Must be willing to travel for two weeks at a time
- Direct all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications
- Maintain construction schedule, identify, and solve problems
- Order materials and schedule inspections as necessary throughout the process
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other employees
- Prepare the schedule and supervise completion of a final punch list
- Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practice, and rectify job site hazards immediately
- Ensure all company employees and contractors are adhere to company safety policies and procedures
- Maintain an organized job site, including the construction office
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Qualified candidates should have at least 6 years of construction experience
- Construction management or engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience
- Knowledgeable in the management, technological, economic, and environmental aspects of commercial construction
- Some AutoCAD experience beneficial
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgement and employ advanced reasoning skills
- Ability to work in a fast pace and high volume atmosphere
- Electronic Bidding Construction budgets and cost accounting
