About the role:
At Custom Industrial Products, the Quality Control Inspector confirms that the products made at CIP will meet industry, company, and consumer expectations. They will inspect, test, or measure materials or products being produced and remove all products that fail to meet specifications.
Responsibilities:
· Read blueprints and specifications
· Monitor operations to ensure that they meet production standards
· Inspection and testing of welding, steel fabrication, coatings, and other materials.
· Measure products with rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers
- Inspect shipments to verify accuracy and integrity of materials received
· Accept or reject finished items
· Remove all products and materials that fail to meet specifications
· Report inspection and test data
- Any downtime will be used for loading trucks and assisting with machine operations.
Candidate Requirements:
· Ability to read blueprints
- Experience in fabrication/welding is a must
· Proficient with computer programs and reporting requirements
· 3 years minimum in quality control
· Experience in a machine and fabrication environment
· Strong attention to detail
· Must be a problem solver and be adaptable
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Basic math skills and ability to interpret print specifications a must
Physical Requirements:
Physical requirements include: regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds when turning parts over, dependent on the part being welded. Twisting, turning, grasping, reaching, kneeling, crawling, pulling, and extended periods of standing.
