Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pipefitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong and fabrication. This role involves working with various materials and systems, ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards. The Pipefitter will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of our operations.
Responsibilities
- · Plans, prepares, installs, and maintains piping and plumbing systems composed of various materials; systems may include pipes, pressure and vacuum gauges, pipeline filters, steam traps, and strainer valves.
- Consults blueprints, work orders, schematics, or instructions; creates working procedure based on specifications.
- Gathers equipment and materials for the job.
- Welds, cuts, bends, threads, solders, and fits pipes.
- Attaches pipes and piping systems to walls using brackets, bracket systems, or clamps; cuts or bores holes prior to project.
- Installs various types of insulation and pipe covering; safely removes and properly discards of old coverings according to hazardous waste procedures and in accordance with EPA and OSHA requirements.
- Inspects pipes, testing for pressure and leaks; reports and/or resolves problems.
- Coordinates with manager to schedule machinery maintenance, repairs, and installation to minimize disruption to operations.
- Complies with applicable safety and building codes, regulations and best practices.
- Maintains records, including safety logs and inspection details.Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine layout and installation procedures.
- Perform welding tasks using FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) techniques to ensure strong joints.
- Solder pipes and fittings as required for various projects.
- Use calipers and other measuring tools to ensure precise cuts and fittings.
- Troubleshoot issues within existing piping systems and perform necessary repairs or modifications.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects efficiently and safely.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Pipefitter or in a similar role within the construction or manufacturing industry.
- Knowledgeable of welding techniques, particularly FCAW, as well as soldering methods.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding technical specifications.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems and their installation requirements is preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
