Setup Process Technician Plastic Injection Molding 2nd or 3rd shifts

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

· Capability to set-up, cycle in, and start-up injection molding machines with proper tooling and supporting equipment including but not limited to dryers, loaders, color feeders, drill presses, and End of Arm Tooling.

· Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems with the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose setups and processes in a timely manner.

· Understanding on how to examine first shot sample parts for defects including but not limited to flash, sinks, shorts, splay, cracks, proper mold inserts, engravings, and date codes, and adjusts machine & equipment set-up and/or process to eliminate defects.

· Ability to work independently and in teams to complete required set-ups and start-ups with other technicians and supervisors.

· Strong attention to detail.

· Excellent time management, organization, writing, and communication skills required.

· Knowledge of product safety processes.

Responsibilities:

· Set-up, cycle in, and start-up injection molding machines with proper tooling and supporting equipment including but not limited to dryers, loaders, drill presses, and End of Arm Tooling.

· Verify machine and equipment are set to approved set-up and process parameters, matching BOM, WO, and Key Process Set Points.

· Submit first shot/first piece sample parts to QC, free of defects including but not limited to flash, sinks, shorts, splay, cracks, while ensuring proper mold inserts, assembly, labeling, engravings, and date codes.

· Adjust machine & equipment set-up and/or process to eliminate defects.

· Use production process change form if the adjustments that need to be made go outside the upper of lower control limits.

· Work with the process Engineer to establish new set-up and process control limits if documented set-up and process does not meet quality or customer specifications or requirements.

· Instructs operators on operating procedures and safety hazards as they pertain to each job after it is set-up.

· At completion of run, responsible for spraying mold with rust preventative, disconnects water lines and blows water out of mold.

· Responsible for storing mold in designated storage space. Must enter tooling MRO and tag mold with any needed mold repair.

· Communicate the status of the machines and processes to the supervisor, operations and other technicians as needed.

· Ensure that all work areas are always kept clean and organized.

· Learn, practice, and support applicable QMS, EMS, & ERP processes and procedures to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.

· Follows CSP’s environmental policies to protect and minimize our impact on the environment.

· Maintains a safe working environment to minimize the possibility of an injury. Acts in a safe manner at all times and ensures that those around him/her do not put themselves or others at risk. Reports any unsafe conditions to the supervisor.

· Performs other related duties and assignments as assigned or required.

Education & Experience Requirements:

· 2 years minimum experience working with injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.

· Experience with IQMS is preferred.

· Experience with Process Monitoring a plus.

· Experienced with MS Office and current Windows OS.

· Experience with industrial automation equipment a plus.

· High School Diploma or equivalent.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

· Ability to work in varied indoor and occasional outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

· The employee is required to talk, see, and hear.

· Travel and overtime are required when necessary.

· The employee is required to stand and walk.

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.

· The employee is often required to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs.

· Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and / or lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
