Wood Worker

Custom Shop Inc, a very busy and well-known gun restoration/repair shop nestled in the Rocky Mountains of Montana, is looking for new talent. Applicant must be very DETAIL ORIENTED and willing to learn. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is proficient in common woodworking and gun stock duplication skills. Applicant must show extreme care about minute details. Knowledge in the firearms industry is a bonus. Our Craftsmen are the best in the business. No tool requirement necessary. A positive attitude and a willingness to learn is mandatory.

This position works in complete integration with the current team at Custom Shop Inc, and while independent in many ways, good communication skills and teamwork is a requirement. MUST BE ABLE TO COMMUTE TO AND WORK IN SHOP LOCATION, HAMILTON, MT.

Basic Knowledge of:

• Woodworking
• Wood duplicator operations
• Woodworking hand tools
• Safe handling of palm sanders drum sanders, belt sanders, drill presses

Woodworker Responsibilities:

• Assemble and Dissemble Firearms
• Proficient in using Hand Tools, Power Tools & Machinist Tools
• Support operations of CNC router milling equipment
• Prepare and load raw materials and parts into machines.
• Work in close partnership with business manager and gunsmiths on gun engraving projects, stock milling, any wood or metal projects deemed appropriate.
• Maintain professional appearance and good personal hygiene.

Woodworker Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Must have previous knowledge using a wood duplicator for firearm stocks (2 years preferred)
• A keen eye for detail and great mechanical aptitude are essential.
• Ability to safely use woodworking tools
• Ability to interpret and follow through with instructions from the gunsmiths
• Excellent communications skills are a requirement.
• Great time management and organizational skills and multi-tasking capabilities.
• Motivated self-starter who can work independently and without supervision.
• Ability to focus and maintain workflow

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
