Are you a driven candidate with solid experience? If so, we are looking for you! We are growing rapidly and looking for a Painter Helper who will partner with our growing team. The role is located at our Alvarado, TX location. You will be responsible for providing quality products in a timely, cost-efficient manner.

The Painter Helper will be assisting in the paint department with various functions. This position needs attention to detail as well as an eye for defects. A successful candidate will be safety minded and a great team player. Excellent attitude and attendance would be great contributions to this po-sition as well.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Mask off and cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protection of equipment
• Fill cracks, holes, and joints per specifications
• Erect scaffolding, movable, and immovable staging and various rigging to gain access to difficult areas
• Remove paint splatters when finished
• Clean up all equipment, including brushes and spray guns
• Drive forklift to stage parts and move material
• Maintain an organized and clean work area.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, including safety and environmental rules
• Properly hang and remove parts from paint racks
• Clean all surfaces to ensure proper adherence of products when necessary
• Install non-skid coatings on various items
• Assemble small parts, including minor wiring
• Other assignments as needed

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Attention to detail and quality standards to get it done right the first time.
• Possess knowledge of and ability to identify fabrication industry metals and ability to help in metal fabrication areas as needed
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work well with team members.
• Strong orientation towards quality, safety and continual improvement.
• Current Driver’s License
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements

• Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing on ladders and platforms of heights above 42”, significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling through-out an 8-12 hour day, and up to 60 hours per week.
• Manual dexterity – The ability to type or operate common mechanical tools and equipment up to 12 hours per day, 60 hours per week.
• Lifting – The ability to bend, stoop and lift up to 50 lbs.
