In this hands-on role, you’ll provide energy audits and install energy-saving measures directly in customers' homes within an 80-mile radius of Allentown, PA. Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to customers’ homes to conduct residential energy audits, assessing energy usage and identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Install energy-saving measures, including light bulbs, nightlights, smart power strips, faucet aerators, showerheads, smoke detectors, and carbon monoxide detectors, following program guidelines.
- Perform blower door testing to assess air leakage and overall home performance.
- Conduct customer safety testing, including combustion appliance zone (CAZ) testing, to ensure appliances and systems operate safely.
- Test the efficiency of appliances and heating/cooling systems and provide actionable recommendations for improvements.
- Record and report data accurately using electronic or manual methods to meet program requirements.
- Troubleshoot technical issues during the installation of energy-saving measures, using basic hand and power tools as needed.
- Act as a program and company representative, engaging customers in discussions about energy-saving programs, benefits, and opportunities while overcoming barriers to participation.
- Navigate various physical environments, including working in crawl spaces, under mobile homes, and other confined areas, for parts of the workday.
- Maintain the highest standards of safety and professionalism when working in customers’ homes.
Requirements:
- BPI Certification is required.
- At least 2 years of experience in energy auditing, residential services, or a related field.
- Experience conducting blower door testing and customer safety evaluations is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, crawling, climbing, kneeling, and working in confined spaces.
- Proficiency with basic hand and power tools and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with a focus on building trust and encouraging energy-saving behaviors.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel daily within the assigned territory.
