Join Custom Wood Products as a Closet Design Consultant, you will be responsible for assisting to launch our new product “whole home” organization line of custom frameless cabinets. The successful candidate will solicit new customers, consult with the customer to understand their needs, and offer product solutions to help meet their needs. The service territory will be Manhattan, KS, and surrounding area. Position will do initial training in Maple Hill, KS, and after training, position will be based in the Manhattan show room.
There is never a dull moment, as each cabinet is custom. Attention to detail, cabinet construction knowledge, professionalism and quick thinking are essential.
Essential Functions:
- Solicits and schedules customer consult appointments
- Engages with customer using active listening skills to understand their organization/storage needs/priorities.
- Offers customers variety of whole home organization solutions in custom frameless cabinets for closets, home office, garage, pantry, murphy beds, laundry room, etc.
- Takes field measurements in customer’s home.
- Draws/designs project(s) using design software.
- Presents design to customer for final approval before construction.
- Stays engaged with project through delivery to customer and handles all necessary follow-ups.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Customer service and sales experience required
- Custom closet design experience strongly preferred
- Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite and Custom Closet design software
- Excellent communication skills (including active listening skills)
- Strong initiative with high attention to detail skills needed
- Ability to utilize and read tape measure to produce accurate field measurements for products
- Willingness to go out and get new business/customers
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to meet targeted sales goals, of scheduling at least 5-6 appointments per week
- Must be able to travel within service territory using personal vehicle
