This Company is a value-add manufacturer and distributor of custom identification products to industrial companies across North America. Our core business centers around the manufacturing of printed signs and organizational aids for warehouse operations and safety. Our company also distributes various complimentary indirect warehouse materials to our industrial clients via a JIT pick, pack, and ship model. We are a smaller business generally serving large, global, Fortune 500 clients, so your experience with being both a leader and hands on is valuable.
The Director of Operations is responsible for the effective management of our business from the time an order is received through to completion. The activities and associates working in Purchasing, Shipping / Receiving, Graphic Design, Production & Assembly, and Building Maintenance will all be overseen by the Director. The Director will also be a member of the company leadership team, which develops and drives strategy for the company.
Daily functional areas that will be under the leadership of the Director will be purchasing for stock and special orders, material handling for loading and unloading, graphic design, all production and assembly, packaging operations, and facility maintenance. Other areas of responsibility are fixed asset management (equipment, facility, fleet), safety, and inventory integrity (organization, labeling, security, accuracy, efficiency). The Director will also be tasked with completing special projects as determined by the leadership team.
- Manage policy deployment in the areas of Lean Manufacturing techniques, quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls and plant performance measures.
- Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.
- Provide leadership for problem resolution as needed.
- Ensure compliance with Company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, and complete and on-time delivery at the lowest possible cost.
- Balance capacity across operations.
- Identifies, communicates, and drives implementation of capital investments and improvement projects.
- Perform other responsibilities as needed and / or as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have prior operational experience in distribution, light production, and experience with lean principles. Any experience or exposure to large format printing is a bonus. The candidate will know how to apply management applications and be proficient in software tools to assist in their performance.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
The Director of Operations will report to the VP & COO. This position will have a compensation plan consisting of a base salary and will be eligible to participate in the Profit-Sharing bonus pool.
