We provide an extensive number of services to our clients in Orlando, Kissimmee and throughout the surrounding areas. Our Company seeks a motivated & dedicated experienced Industrial Electrician that thrives in challenging and demanding working environments. This position offers the opportunity to grow with a Company expanding its Florida operations over the next five years in this region and throughout the State! We are seeking Industrial Electricians for Orlando, Florida.

Payrate / Hourly DOE $21 -22

BASIC FUNCTION AND SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform work in the design, installation, construction, modification, repair and maintenance of electrical apparatuses, equipment, and systems; may act as lead worker to other classified staff in the area; and perform related work as required. Inspect, isolate, troubleshoot and repair electrical malfunctions using various test instruments; maintain and repair fire alarm, programmable lighting and access systems; test electrical equipment for safety and efficiency; plan the layout and wiring of new or remodeled installations; fabricate electrical parts; inspect completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements and compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulations; inspect related work performed by contractors; estimate cost, time and materials for electrical projects; participate in the maintenance and operations of an electrical shop; clean, maintain and service tools and equipment used in the performance of duties.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains electrical distribution systems including electric motors, electric controls, fire alarms, and clock systems. Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs new equipment and systems, including all campus lights and programmable lighting controls. Monitors work done by outside contractors for adherence to National Electrical Code Requirements and reports back to supervisor. Assists in the writing of specifications for repairs and new construction. Maintains appropriate service and repair records. Research, purchases and inventories equipment parts, chemicals, and supplies. Responds to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service. May train and direct the work of other classified staff in the area.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS [Minimum level of formal education that is required to perform this job satisfactorily]

Vocational School or some college courses.

Trade school apprenticeship program that includes theory and on-the-job work. Experience :

Four years as a licensed, journey-level wireman in a commercial, industrial, or facilities operations setting.

TRAINING, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE

Operate and use required tools and equipment skillfully and safely; assemble, install, maintain, and repair electrical apparatuses; make rough sketches; estimate cost, time and materials of electrical work; analyze and respond safely and appropriately to emergency situations; perform preventive maintenance on switch gears and transformers; read and comprehend plans and blueprints as appropriate to trade; perform heavy physical labor; train and direct the work of other classified staff in the area; follow and give oral and written instructions; maintain cooperative working relationships; demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse population. Experience in metal fabrication (welding). Ability to complete the following trainings as required : forklift operation certification, lock out tag out, fall arrest, confined space, MSDS, asbestos and lead identification, ladder safety, emergency evacuation, in-house OSHA, and respirator training.

EQUIPMENT / TOOLS

Welder, pen or pencil, lift truck, maintenance tools (wrenches), grinder, drill press, electrical and Instrumentation tools, and Meters.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Mobility to all areas and systems. It requires exposure to temperature extremes, high noise levels, wetness, vibrations, dust, moving equipment, heights, fumes, etc. Work is performed on rotating shifts.
