Job Overview
Customer Value Partners (CVP) is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide specialized respiratory care in an inpatient setting. This opportunity involves working with state-of-the-art equipment and contributing to the health and well-being of our nation's veterans.
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for administering respiratory medications, conducting Pulmonary Function Tests, and assisting with intubations and other procedures. You will also operate, maintain, and adjust ventilator machines, draw and analyze Arterial Blood Gases, and utilize handheld nebulizers.
This role requires a strong knowledge of respiratory medications and treatments, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop patient care plans and document patient progress in electronic medical records.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized respiratory care in inpatient units
- Administer respiratory medications and perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Conduct Pulmonary Function Tests and interpret results
- Assist with intubations and other simple procedures
- Operate, maintain, and adjust ventilator machines
- Draw and analyze Arterial Blood Gases
Qualifications
- Current credentials as a Registered Respiratory Therapist from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Current, active, and unrestricted license to practice as an RRT
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an acute care hospital setting
- American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption
