CVP is seeking Certified Medical Supply Technicians (Sterile Processing Technicians) to support the Veterans Health Administration at the Cheyenne VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Cheyenne, WY. The Certified Medical Supply Technicians (Sterile Processing Technicians) will perform critical duties in the Sterile Processing Service (SPS) department, including receiving, disassembling, inspecting, assembling, packaging, disinfecting, sterilizing, and distributing reusable medical supplies, instruments, and equipment to support surgical and clinical operations. This is a full-time position (40 hours / week) working Monday-Friday between 0.

Hourly Rate : $21.63-23.41

Responsibilities :
Receive and inspect contaminated instruments from operating rooms, dental clinics, endoscopy, nursing units, eye clinics, wound care, and podiatryDetermine and execute correct decontamination and cleaning methods per Instructions for Use (IFU) or Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)Assemble full range of instrument sets from simple 4-5 piece sets to complex 90-100 piece sets for various specialtiesOperate and monitor sterilization equipment including Steam, V-Pro, Trophon, and Medivators unitsPerform quality control testing including bacteriological monitoringHandle delicate and specialized equipment including flexible scopes, microsurgical instruments, and dental handpiecesMaintain proper documentation in instrument tracking management system (Censitrac)Follow all safety and infection control protocolsInteract professionally with clinical staff regarding instrument availability and substitutionsParticipate in required training and continuing educationQualifications :
High School Diploma or equivalentCertification from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)Knowledge of surgical instruments used in operating rooms and clinic settingsUnderstanding of sterilization processes and cleaning equipmentKnowledge of universal precautions and infection control practicesBasic knowledge of medical terminologyBasic understanding of anatomy and physiologyAbility to obtain VA-sponsored background investigation clearanceU.S. Citizenship requiredPreferred Qualifications :
Previous sterile processing experience in a hospital settingExperience with Censitrac or similar instrument tracking systemsPrior VA experiencePhysical Requirements :
