Overview

CVP seeks Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our team in providing healthcare services to our Nation's Veterans across multiple VA facilities in South Carolina and Georgia. These positions support the Ralph H. Johnson VA Healthcare System, working in PACT and Specialty Clinics settings. 

Locations:  

  • Savannah VA Clinic 1170 Shawnee Street, Savannah, GA 31419 
  • Hinesville VA Clinic 500 East Oglethorpe Highway, Hinesville, GA 31313 

Schedule for Primary Care/Specialty: 8-10 hour shifts.

 

Responsibilities

  • Key Areas of Specialty: Primary Care, Med/Surg, Long Term Care, Psychiatric 
  • Provide skilled nursing care to patients in Primary Care and Specialty Clinics 
  • Perform approved Medical Center procedures as described in the Licensed Practical Nurse Act 
  • Demonstrate independence in patient care management while working under RN/Provider supervision 
  • Process incoming consults following Standard Operating Procedures 
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records 
  • Monitor and document patient vital signs and responses to medications 
  • Assist with patient education regarding treatments and medications 
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care 
  • Demonstrate ICARE values (Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, Excellence) 
  • May be required to work with COVID-19 positive patients and Patients Under Investigation (PUI) 

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a state-approved school of practical/vocational nursing 
  • Current, active, and unrestricted LPN license from any U.S. state 
  • Minimum 2 years of current experience in primary care or specialty clinic setting (must have worked within last 6 months) 
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association 
  • U.S. Citizenship (required for VA security clearance) 
  • Ability to successfully complete VA-mandated training and orientation 
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption 
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records systems 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Prior VA or federal healthcare experience 
  • Experience with VA's Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) 
  • Additional specialty certifications relevant to outpatient care 

Physical Requirements:  

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods 
  • Ability to lift and position patients 
  • Manual dexterity for clinical procedures 
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read medical records and perform assessments
