Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including IV infusions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment, adhering to aseptic techniques during medication preparation.
- Process medication orders and manage inventory levels, ensuring timely restocking of pharmaceuticals.
- Provide support in patient care by answering medication-related inquiries and educating patients on proper medication usage.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes through effective medication management.
- Document all pharmacy activities accurately in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Stay informed about new medications, therapies, and industry trends to enhance knowledge and skills.
Requirements
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is required; experience in a hospital or acute care setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in IV infusion techniques and critical care pharmacy practices is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care.
