What you’ll do: Customers Bank is committed to providing exceptional banking services while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Compliance Testing and Monitoring to join our team and oversee our compliance program.
Strategic Leadership:
- Provide strategic oversight and direction for the Compliance Testing function, ensuring alignment with the bank's overall compliance strategy.
- Lead and mentor the Compliance Testing Officers, fostering a culture of compliance and collaboration.
- Serve as a key advisor to senior management on compliance-related matters, providing insights and recommendations.
Compliance Program Management:
- Oversee the development and execution of the Consumer Compliance Testing Program, ensuring comprehensive risk identification, monitoring, and control.
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive Compliance Related Third Party Testing Program to provide effective challenge to customer facing third parties.
- Act as the Consumer Compliance Subject Matter Expert, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations, including but not limited to TILA, Regulation Z, TISA, Regulation DD, and Reg CC.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as Legal, Business Management, Operations, Technology, Finance, and Control Functions to address and mitigate compliance risks.
Regulatory Compliance and Monitoring:
- Monitor and implement new and revised laws and regulations applicable to loan and deposit products, ensuring the bank's compliance with federal and state requirements.
- Conduct high-level compliance reviews and assessments, identifying trends and potential risks.
- Prepare and present detailed compliance reports to senior management, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
Risk Management:
- Lead proactive Compliance Testing for loan and deposit products, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
- Participate in the Annual Consumer Compliance Risk Assessment, ensuring comprehensive risk management across the organization.
- Communicate compliance risks and mitigation strategies to senior leadership and executive management.
What You Need:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Compliance Testing or Internal Audit roles, with a strong focus on consumer compliance regulations.
- Industry recognized certifications – (CRCM preferred)
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a high-performing team.
- Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex compliance issues to senior management.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Technology Skills:
- Knowledge of Governance Risk Compliance tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
