What youll be doing.
Job Summary:
Europe Assist North America (EANA) is seeking responsible, dependable, career-minded individuals for our Summer Internship Program. This person will work under the scope of one of our corporate departments that is aligned with the interns academic focus and career interests.
The program is a paid summer internship designed to provide practical work experience and development opportunities for college students wanting to bridge the gap between the classroom and real-world application. Interns are exposed to various business functions, corporate culture, and will participate in a variety of activities aimed at fulfilling the internship objectives.
This role will be worked out of the San Diego office 5 days per week and will last for approximately 8-9 weeks, intended only for the summer, and will end no later than September 1st.
The FP&A intern will work closely with the Director of FP&A to assist in running and transforming the FP&A area. The role will interface directly with a variety of groups including Accounting, Treasury, Accounts Payable and Actuarial/Underwriting area and the GMMI and IDT FP&A BUs plus support the EANA Chief Financial Officer in developing partnership with LOBs commercial areas (critical to a good forecast of results). The main objective of this internship will be to create a road map of meeting with key business partners to collect and manage revenue forecast.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Learn assigned department functionality through on the job training and job shadowing.

Complete tasks as they are assigned by internship mentor.

Learn other key department functions and how they interact within the larger Organization through shadowing.

Complete a series of projects and present results to the internship mentor and manager.

Participate in performance feedback check-in meetings.

Assist in the coordination and preparation of forecasts and budgets throughout the US group.

Assist in financial analysis, support Director of FP&A on special projects such as modeling/KPIs, and evaluation to keep the business on track to meet its financial goals.

Collaborate with all department managers to develop a robust REVENUE budgeting process.

Assist on developing and maintaining effective relationships with business partners, senior leaders, and cross functional teams at all levels of the organization to drive effective business decision making (Impacts).

Perform ad hoc projects (e.g. Finance transformation workstreams) for senior management as assigned.
Our internship team will provide guidance and support to ensure the intern gets the most out of the experience, but it is the interns responsibility to achieve all applicable milestones needed for academic credit.
Required / Desired Knowledge, Experiences and Skills:

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, email, and the internet.

Effective communication skills (both written and verbal).

Ability to work as part of a team.

Strong analytical thinking and a detail-oriented mindset.

The FP&A intern must have management, analytical, skills and will learn strategic planning, and communication skills.
Education/Certifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required.

B.A. or B.S. degree in finance/economics/accounting IN PROGRES
