We are an exciting new restaurant set to open in early summer, offering an elevated dining experience with contemporary wood-fired cuisine in a luxurious, multilevel space. Our concept features a formal dining room upstairs and a sophisticated lounge and bar on the ground level. With a focus on contemporary, innovative cuisine and exceptional hospitality, we will host weddings, large events, weekend brunches, and year-round dinner service. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our team and ensure seamless operations from top to bottom.
Position Overview:
The General Manager (GM) will be the face of the restaurant, overseeing daily operations and ensuring that every guest has an exceptional experience. The GM will work closely with the Executive Chef and Director of Operations to curate a world-class dining experience, maintain the highest standards of hospitality, and foster a positive and collaborative team environment. This is a leadership position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy setting, with a passion for fine dining, event management, and delivering unparalleled service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant, including the formal dining room, lounge and bar, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Director of Operations to execute a contemporary, wood-fired food menu that aligns with the restaurant’s vision and elevates the guest experience.
- Lead, motivate, and manage front-of-house staff, including hiring, training, and ongoing development to ensure excellence in customer service and operational efficiency.
- Work with our event planner to manage large-scale events and weddings, from initial planning through execution, ensuring all logistics are handled seamlessly.
- Develop and maintain operational standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency, quality, and safety in all aspects of service.
- Maintain a strong focus on guest satisfaction, handling feedback and resolving issues to ensure a memorable dining experience.
- Oversee inventory management, purchasing, and vendor relationships in collaboration with the kitchen and bar teams.
- Coordinate with marketing and events teams to drive brand awareness, increase reservations, and promote special events, brunches, and dinners.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by promoting open communication, teamwork, and a strong company culture.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor laws, including overseeing health and safety inspections.
Qualifications:
- 1 years of experience in restaurant management, with a strong background in fine dining, event coordination, and multi-level venue operations.
- Proven experience in leading and managing large teams, with a focus on training, mentorship, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
- Strong operational knowledge, including budgeting, cost control, inventory management, and staff scheduling.
- Experience with high-end event and wedding management, with the ability to coordinate large and complex events seamlessly.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with both staff and guests.
- A passion for hospitality and a commitment to delivering an outstanding guest experience.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a calm and positive demeanor.
- A collaborative and flexible leadership style, with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Knowledge of wood-fired cooking and a genuine interest in contemporary, innovative cuisine is an advantage.
- A strong understanding of beverage and wine programs, including working closely with the bar manager to curate drinks and pairings.
