Our Seattle Fulfillment Center (SFC) is located in the heart of the Ikea Commercial District where we have 200,000 square feet of state of the art production and inventory. We maximize our facility with two shifts of production, five days per week. We enjoy a culturally diverse workforce and promote team orientated solutions to delight our customers.
The Senior Technical Designer is responsible for managing the technical design process through the Product Life Cycle, according to the company’s Product Development Process Steps Calendar, through close collaboration with the Merchandising, Design, and Production teams. Communication with mentioned groups includes all phases of development including, but not limited to; construction details, pattern review and revision, graded spec, garment fit including audits to agents and factories, garment sampling, garment fittings and advising grading revisions when necessary. The Senior Technical Designer may be asked to provide a specialists view to specific areas of expertise to include; fit, patternmaking, grades, general troubleshooting and mentoring / coaching team members as requested by the Design & Development team.
Essential Functions :
- Product Development Leadership :
Identify best construction methods for each style and maintain established construction quality standards.
Proven ability to effectively communicate fit and pattern adjustments within a digital environment to diverse audiences, including those with limited proficiency in English.
Primary contact with NWG Sourcing Technical Designer : Create, facilitate and monitor Centric based communication and accountability structure with NWG Sourcing Technical Design team. Develop relationships and share tools collaboratively.
With a keen eye for product DNA adherence and persistence for quality, ensure all developed products exceed Cutter & Buck’s product DNA
