I. Summary
We are seeking a CNC Machine Operator to join our team. As a CNC Machinist Operator, operating, and maintaining precision CNC machines to produce high-quality components according to technical specifications. You should have a strong desire to learn CNC machining, excellent technical skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Willing to learn machine setup and operation:
- Willing to learn to prepare CNC machines, including tooling, workpiece setup, and fixture preparation.
- Operate CNC machines to perform machining operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Monitor machine operations and adjust as needed to maintain optimal performance and meet production targets.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to program CNC machines using G-code or CAM software.
- Optimize tool paths and machining processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and cycle times.
- Identify and troubleshoot machine and tooling issues to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
- Quality Control and Inspection:
- Conduct in-process and final inspections of machined components to ensure adherence to dimensional and quality requirements.
- Use precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment to verify part accuracy and quality.
- Make necessary adjustments to machine settings or tooling to maintain quality standards throughout the production process.
- Tool Selection and Maintenance:
- Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and tool holders for specific machining operations and materials.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of cutting tools, tool holders, and other machine components to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Identify and replace worn or damaged tools as needed to maintain machining accuracy and quality.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of machine settings, tool changes, and production data.
- Report any issues, deviations, or quality concerns to supervisors or relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the quality control team to address any non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in CNC machining technology, techniques, and industry best practices.
- Actively participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality in the machining department.
- Share knowledge and provide guidance to junior machinists to foster a culture of continuous learning and development.
Qualifications/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certifications or relevant vocational training in CNC machining is preferred.
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in precision machining.
- Proficiency in machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
- Solid understanding of cutting tools, inserts, and tool holders, as well as tool selection and maintenance.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
