Job Title: Graphic Designer - Print & Digital

Job Summary: We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Graphic Designer to join our team. You will be responsible for supporting print output activities for our print business while ensuring quality and consistency across various client portals. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your design skills in a high-impact, customer-focused environment, working closely with both clients and our sales team to enhance customer satisfaction and drive sales.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform production tasks in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring deadlines are met.

Collaborate with customers to understand their design needs, offering ideas, solutions, and alternatives.

Manage work schedules to meet customer timeframes, proactively addressing any conflicts or delays.

Operate and maintain prepress computers, printers, and other design equipment on both PC and Mac platforms.

Stay updated with current technologies and design software to create high-quality graphics and digital files.

Provide timely follow-up with customers on proof approvals, ensuring satisfaction and accuracy.

Monitor and manage digital files received from customers through Web-to-Print platforms.

Preflight digital files for errors or issues, ensuring they meet technical specifications.

Perform regular backups of computer files and archive customer files for easy retrieval.

Output digital files according to job specifications, ensuring quality standards are met.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Required:
  Two years of formal education in graphic design, with a minimum of two years of hands-on experience in print and signage production.
  
  Strong sign design skills, with knowledge of engineering design considered an asset.
  
  Proficient in dual-platform design applications (PC & Mac), including Microsoft Word, Acrobat, Microsoft Publisher, InDesign, Illustrator, PowerPoint, CorelDraw, Photoshop, and Canva.
  
  Familiarity with PDF and Postscript files, including working knowledge of PDF plug-ins.
  
• Desired (but not required):
  Ability to train sales staff on digital tools and design best practices.
  
  Coordination with sign and press operators to ensure final output meets quality expectations.
  
  Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify and reject poor quality or incorrect jobs.
  
  Inventory management skills to monitor and order necessary graphics supplies.
