We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior HR People Operations and Labor professional to lead labor relations and core HR activities at a manufacturing site. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in labor relations and union management, with a strong understanding of employee life cycle processes, employee relations, and performance management. Key Responsibilities
- Lead labor relations and manage union activities, including grievance processes and union negotiations.
- Oversee core Human Resources functions such as recruiting, employee relations, performance management, employee development, compensation, and benefits.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to management and leadership, providing coaching on employee and labor relations.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws, particularly in West Virginia and Texas.
- Manage the employee life cycle from onboarding through exit, ensuring seamless HR operations.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Handle conflict resolution, facilitate union grievance processes, and support dispute resolution activities.
- Utilize HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite to manage employee data and streamline HR processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in hands-on labor relations and union activities at a manufacturing site.
- Proven experience in managing the core HR functions, including employee relations, performance management, employee development, and compensation and benefits.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint) and HRIS technology.
- Knowledge of Federal and State labor laws, particularly in West Virginia and Texas (NLRB preferred).
- Experience managing the union grievance process and overseeing grievance activities.
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or Industrial Relations.
- Experience with Workday HRIS.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong influencing and coaching abilities to guide managers and leaders on labor relations and employee issues.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and best practices in HR.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and of legal working age as defined by local laws.
