This role is responsible for mechanical engineering on large-scale projects, involving mechanical system design from scratch, analysis/calculations (stress, fatigue, etc.), acceleration forces, load calculations, material stress design, failure and effects analysis, risk assessment, component selection, and mechanical system installation/commissioning.

Responsibilities
- Organised and technically competent with effective oral and written communication skills.
- Experience working in a multi-disciplined environment, interfacing with engineers, designers, and drafters.
- Design, develop, and implement fully integrated mechanical assembly systems to meet process requirements, adhering to local and government agency design/implementation codes.
- Analyse system design for hazard analysis development and mitigation.
- Develop documentation for system configuration and design, including theory/description of operation, detailed mechanical system design description, system implementation/acceptance test plans, and system routine maintenance/job plans.
- Create drawings of mechanical designs, assemblies, and installation procedures using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks software.
- Design and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.
- Perform system analysis/calculations, including stress, fatigue, reliability, life expectancy, and tolerance studies.
- Knowledge of ride system design requirements for attractions, including guest accelerations, reach envelope, ingress/egress, weight, and emergency evacuation analysis and implementation upon control system failure in worst-case scenarios.
- Assist with the initial start-up and debugging of integrated systems and the development of system documentation.
- Work on system integration projects for clients in industries such as entertainment and manufacturing.
- Act as technical lead on projects, guiding lower-level engineers, technicians, and contractors.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5 years in the following areas is preferred:
- An in-depth understanding of mechanical systems, components, stress analysis, acceleration forces, and knowledge of amusement ride safety standards (ASTM Standards).
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorks is also desired.
