Job Description

- Nursing Practice: Assess, identify, and implement appropriate nursing diagnoses. Develop and update the patient’s care plan to meet goals and optimize outcomes across the care continuum. Monitor, document, and communicate patient conditions effectively.
- Advocacy: Advocate for ethical and holistic care, collaborating on care plans that respect the autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs of patients.
- Learning Facilitation: Create a learning environment for patients, families, nursing staff, and other healthcare team members, including students. Facilitate both formal and informal education.
- Safety and Quality: Ensure safety by identifying and addressing problems, integrating evidence-based practices into nursing care, and using data to improve patient outcomes. Balance patient safety, self-safety, and environmental safety for optimal results.
- Professional Development: Pursue ongoing professional development and practice within the legal parameters of the Nurse Practice Act, Nursing Social Policy Statement, ANA Code of Ethics, and specialty standards. Encourage a culture of inquiry and research-based practice.
- Leadership: Lead and coordinate teams, delegate tasks appropriately, and collaborate with the interprofessional care team. Model professional behaviour and represent the nursing profession.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Washington Registered Nurse License upon hire.
- National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
- National Provider NRP certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics upon hire.
- At least 1 year of nursing experience.
- At least 1 year of medical-surgical experience.
- 1 to 2 years of nursing experience.
- Minimum education required: Certification.
