Summary
Supports the STNA Program Manager in the scheduling and instruction of Health Industry Solutions’ morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend nurse aide training and competency evaluation program (NATCEP). This role will deliver NATCEP and NATCEP Train-the-Trainer related content through open enrollment, contract, and continuing education courses. This role will also assist the Program Manager with various instructor and curriculum development projects for the STNA and other emerging program course content. Assists the Program Manager with external communications, marketing strategies and public relations of department programs, in collaboration with Workforce Innovation division and collegewide marketing and communications resources.

Target Starting Salary Range: $65,000 to $70,000

Job Description:
Summary

Essential Functions
- Provides formal STNA instruction each semester and covers instructor absences when necessary
- Participates in program and division committees and maintains current and accurate records as needed
- Evaluates and grades students' class, skills, clinical work, assignments, and papers
- Supervise students' skills lab and clinical assignments
- Initiates, facilitates, and moderates classroom discussions
- Assesses students’ clinical education needs and client teaching needs using a variety of methods
- Compiles, administers, and grades examinations for classes taught
- Prepares and delivers didactic content to students on topics needed and required for successful completion and employment in the industry
- Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts
- Demonstrates proper patient care in clinical units
- Keeps abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional trainings
- Plans, evaluates, and revises curricula, course content, course materials, and methods of instruction
- Provides input for learning outcomes, assessments, and program objectives
- Maintains student attendance records, grades, and other required records
- Advises students on academic and vocational curricula and on career issues
- Maintains regularly scheduled office hours to advise and assist students
- Provides a full range of program support
- Assists in the development of policies related to the STNA program
- Assists in recruitment and marketing activities for the program, including attending job and career fairs
- Participates in campus and community events when available
- Serves on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional policies, departmental matters, and academic issues
- Assists with execution of surveys, course, and student evaluations to provide data analysis for continuous improvement and grant reporting
- Develops and maintains effective communication with prospective applicants, students, graduates, instructors, and community stakeholders
- Works with operational databases to streamline processes and workflow
- Works collaboratively with the Program Manager, Health Industry Solutions and serves as a liaison between the College and industry partners
- Assists with the recruitment of candidates for STNA instructors
- Submits weekly reports
- Attends meetings, conferences, and workshops for educational and business development
- Assures program, division, and College standards are met
- Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Current, active, unencumbered/unrestricted RN license
- Minimum two years (defined as a minimum of 1600 hours) as a registered nursing (RN) providing geriatric and chronic care in a long-term care facility, home health agency, hospital providing care to the chronically ill, or other long-term care settings
- Minimum one year experience supervising STNAs
- Minimum of two years of additional experience in a related field
- Must have a valid driver’s license with the ability to regularly travel to and from various clinical sites
- Must have an active “Train the Trainer” certificate and have verification of hours taught in an Ohio NATCEP within the prior 24-month period program
- Eligible to teach according to the state of Ohio Department of Health Requirements
