What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at CVFF?
As a Maintenance Technician with Country View Family Farms you will be responsible for overseeing general maintenance around our feed mill, completing work orders, and executing our preventative maintenance program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Completing daily/weekly walk-throughs of the plant
- Writing Work Orders for all needed repairs/improvements
- Completing all assigned Work Orders
- Completing all assigned Preventative Maintenance activities
- Organization and Cleanliness of the Maintenance Shop
- Assisting Mill Operators when required
- Completing all assigned safety trainings
- Completing all assigned maintenance trainings
QUALIFICATIONS:
- You have a High School Diploma or a General Education Degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- You have a minimum of 3 years’ experience of maintenance in a manufacturing facility
- General Mechanical, Electrical, Welding, and Fabrication experience desired. Certifications in any of these areas is a plus
- You are multi-task oriented and a team player.
- You have the ability to define problems, collect and interpret data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can physically be standing on your feet a majority of the day with the ability to lift 50 lbs.
- You are able to tolerate a manufacturing environment, which may include cold and hot temperatures, dust, odors, and frequently noisy conditions.
- You are available to work Monday thru Friday, with some weekends and holiday work required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Moving/ Traversing: The person in this position needs to frequently move around the Production areas of the Feed Mill and will be moving/ traversing more than 85% of the time to attend to needs of the plant.
- Operating/ Inspecting/ Placing/ Positioning: Frequently is using tools to work on/repair/improve equipment and testing that equipment to ensure proper function
- Ascend/ Descend/ Traverse: Frequently ascends/ descends stairs & ladders to work atop equipment and provide routine maintenance.
- Position Self to Move: Frequently positions self to complete tasks by reaching under/ around equipment to reach grease zerks, take temperatures, reach bolts/nuts.
- Communicate/ Detect/ Identify/ Exchange Information: Constant visual & audio monitoring of equipment. Shares information regarding possible issues with management to create a plan of action.
- Move/ Transport/ Install/ Remove: Frequently moves equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally moves equipment weighing up to 75 pounds, rarely moves equipment weighing up to 100 pounds. Frequently transports equipment/ materials through various areas of the mill weighing 50 pounds or more.
- Shoveling/Brooming/Pushing: Frequently will need to clean dust, feed, grease and oil messes to keep the facility clean
- Work Environment: Frequent exposure to loud noises, dirty/ dusty environments, hot and cold temperatures, outdoor environments, grease and oil.
