The Central Valley Immigrant Integration Collaborative (CVIIC) announces a new employment opportunity for a Director of Operations. This is a Fresno-based exempt position that will enable the ideal applicant to contribute to the growth of our nonprofit agency and help lead a dedicated team of CVIIC employees working to: a) serve Latino immigrant families in the Central Valley; b) continue our tradition of collaboration and coordination of efforts with a wide network of partner agencies from the nonprofit, public, and private sectors.

About CVIIC: Created in 2014, the Central Valley Immigrant Integration Collaborative (CVIIC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring the full participation of immigrants in building strong, vibrant, inclusive communities within California's Central Valley. We achieve this by collaborating with allies to offer strategic services of vital importance to our target population: Latinos and other immigrant families residing in Central Valley rural and urban communities.

CVIIC has two principal areas of work: the delivery of free immigration legal services; the development of entrepreneurship and digital equity training opportunities to Latino immigrants seeking to achieve socio-economic mobility. CVIIC also carries out extensive community education/know your rights activities throughout the region. CVIIC’s work impacts thousands of community members each year and is carried out in coordination and collaboration with many partner agencies.

Position Overview: The Director of Operations will oversee the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of CVIIC, ensuring the organization runs efficiently and effectively in alignment with its mission. This role requires a strategic leader capable of managing diverse teams, optimizing operational processes, and fostering a collaborative work environment. The Director of Operations will report directly to the Executive Director and work closely with other team members to support CVIIC's programs and initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee daily operations, ensuring that administrative functions, office management, and internal processes align with organizational goals. Update, develop, and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency.
  • Financial Management: Assist in budgeting processes, monitor expenditures, and ensure financial reporting accuracy. Collaborate with external accountant to maintain financial health and transparency.
  • Human Resources: Manage HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, and promote staff promotional development. Coordinate with external HR consulting firm. Ensure compliance with employment laws and foster a positive organizational culture.
  • Program Support: Work closely with program directors to ensure operational support for CVIIC's initiatives, including immigration services, entrepreneurship, digital literacy, health, community outreach, and other projects and activities in which the agency becomes involved.
  • Technology Management: Oversee IT infrastructure, ensuring that technology systems support organizational needs and data security protocols are in place.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure organizational compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Develop risk management strategies to safeguard the organization's assets and reputation.
  • Grant Writing and Reporting: Support the preparation of grant proposals and funding applications; help ensure timely submission of grant reports and compliance with funder requirements. Collaborate with program and finance staff to track outcomes, deliverables, and budgets related to grant-funded activities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including staff, board members, partner agencies, and community members.
  • Help Lead Agency During Short- Term Executive Director Sabbatical Leave: The Director of Operations is expected to lead agency during a sabbatical to be taken by the Executive Director during summer 2025.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate and graduate degrees in business administration, nonprofit management, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading operations management, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
  • Proven experience in financial management, human resources, and organizational development.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with technology systems that are relevant to nonprofit operations.
  • Commitment to CVIIC's mission and values, with an understanding of immigrant communities' challenges and opportunities.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) desired (due to the target population we serve).
