JOB SUMMARY:
The Central Valley Immigrant Integration Collaborative (CVIIC) is a Fresno-based nonprofit agency that serves and empowers immigrant families in the Central Valley. CVIIC works with a wide range of partner agencies in the region, including nonprofit organizations, public sector agencies, and private sector entities.
CVIIC is expanding its team and creating new employment opportunities designed to serve and empower Central Valley Latino families. As part of this growth, a new Bilingual (English/Spanish) Immigrant Entrepreneurship and Digital Literacy Instructor position is being created as part of our “Making it in America” initiative. This is a full-time position that requires a dynamic, self-driven individual with previous experience working with Spanish-speaking Latino immigrants and entrepreneurship/business development. An ideal candidate should also demonstrate effectiveness as an instructor/trainer, be able to carry out the responsibilities described below, and contribute to the enhancement of our agency’s organizational capacity. The position requires availability to work on some evenings and weekends and to travel as needed. This is a Fresno-based position. The hired candidate will operate out of CVIIC’s office in Fresno and offer Spanish-language in-person courses in Kings, Tulare, Fresno, and Madera counties. Courses will be offered in one or two counties at a time.
The position offers interested applicants an opportunity to put into practice existing professional skills and contribute to the creation of socio-economic mobility opportunities for Latino families residing in the four target counties. The hired candidate will be part of a recognized nonprofit agency, take advantage of professional development opportunities, develop new professional relationships with our regional network partners, and contribute to regional efforts to diversify and revitalize our regional economy.
The Bilingual Immigrant Entrepreneurship and Digital Literacy Instructor: Making it in America staff member will play a crucial role in empowering low-income, Spanish-speaking Latino immigrant entrepreneurs, fostering economic growth, and contributing to the overall success of Latino immigrant families residing in four counties (Kings, Tulare, Fresno, Madera). The bilingual instructor will design and offer short-term, in-person, digital literacy courses to Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs. This position is designed to help make a significant impact by facilitating the integration of Latino immigrant entrepreneurs into the local business ecosystem.
This is a full-time position with guaranteed funding until August 2026, with the possibility of extension depending on funding possibilities.
The ideal candidate will have an opportunity to join the CVIIC team and its regional network of partner organizations, learn and implement a range of professional skills, and transform the lives of Latino immigrant entrepreneurs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Researches, develops and updates curriculum materials and lesson plans that cover various entrepreneurial and digital literacy topics, including computer basics, internet usage, social media marketing, online sales platforms, digital security, and data privacy.
- Delivers engaging and interactive training sessions to Spanish-speaking Latino immigrants, including aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners, ensuring effective transfer of digital literacy knowledge and skills.
- Adapts instructional strategies to accommodate different learning styles and language proficiency levels.
- Conducts needs assessments and evaluations to understand the specific digital literacy challenges faced by Spanish-speaking Latino immigrant entrepreneurs. Identifies knowledge gaps and develops strategies to address them through the training program.
- Provides one-on-one coaching and support to Spanish-speaking Latino immigrant entrepreneurs, offering personalized guidance and troubleshooting assistance related to digital tools and platforms. Facilitates group discussions and activities to encourage peer learning and collaboration.
- Researches and recommends relevant digital tools, software applications, and online resources that can enhance the digital literacy of Spanish-speaking Latino immigrant entrepreneurs. Assists in identifying free or low-cost resources suitable for entrepreneurs with limited budgets.
- Tracks participant progress and performance throughout the training program. Evaluates learning outcomes, collects feedback, and makes necessary adjustments to improve the effectiveness of the curriculum and instructional methods.
- Adapts instructional materials and techniques to meet the language and cultural needs of Spanish-speaking Latino immigrant entrepreneurs. Utilizes effective communication strategies to ensure understanding and engagement among participants.
- Develops and implements outreach and marketing strategies to promote the digital literacy training program to target audiences.
- Contributes to the development of marketing materials, social media campaigns, and outreach efforts to attract and engage participants.
- Maintains accurate records of participant attendance, assessments, and feedback. Prepares progress reports and shares data-driven insights on program effectiveness and impact as needed.
- Stays up to date with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in digital literacy and entrepreneurship education.
- Referring clients who might need other services not offered by CVIIC to partner agencies.
- Organizing informational events and making presentations to the public (in-person and online), particularly Spanish-speaking Latino immigrants in the Central Valley.
- Participating actively in CVIIC social media activities, including Facebook Live events.
- Uploading events and blog posts to CVIIC Wordpress websites.
- Developing informational materials on topics addressed by CVIIC.
- Representing CVIIC in events held in collaboration with regional, state, and national partners.
- Carrying out necessary research on relevant topics.
- Developing and strengthening partnerships with other nonprofit organizations, public and private sector entities.
- Documentation of activities in an effective manner and submitting reports as required by our agency.
- Contributing to CVIIC’s short-, medium- and long-term planning.
- Other relevant tasks assigned by the Executive Director
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in a relevant field such as computer science, business administration, communication, education, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of digital technologies, online platforms, and digital marketing concepts.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively teach and explain complex digital concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Experience working with Spanish-speaking Latino immigrant communities.
- Proficiency (speak, read, write) in English and Spanish.
- Familiarity with instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies.
- Patience, empathy, and cultural sensitivity when working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing needs.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications and digital tools.
- Passion for empowering immigrant entrepreneurs through digital literacy education.
- Willingness and ability to travel to communities in the four targeted counties.

Primary Responsibilities
The Bilingual Immigrant Entrepreneurship Instructor will work under the supervision of CVIIC’s Executive Director. Principal tasks include:
- Assisting in the planning, development, and delivery of Spanish-language entrepreneurship courses and related services. The courses are to be offered in person in four target counties (Kings, Tulare, Fresno, Madera). The courses will be offered in one or two counties at a time.
- Providing business development-related technical assistance to participants in our “Making it in America” initiative.
- Referring clients who might need other services not offered by CVIIC to partner agencies.
- Organizing informational events and making presentations to the public (in-person and online), particularly Spanish-speaking Latino immigrants in the Central Valley.
- Participating actively in CVIIC social media activities, including Facebook Live events.

Desired Skills and Requirements
- An undergraduate or graduate degree in business or related academic discipline
- At least 2 years of related professional experience, preferably in entrepreneurship/business development or related activities, including adult school/vocational program teaching experience.
- An ability to work independently and be part of team efforts
- A willingness and availability to travel to communities in the four counties targeted by this initiative
- A strong and proven commitment to work on behalf of immigrant rights and a familiarity with CVIIC’s regional network
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent customer relations skills
- Full Spanish/English fluency (verbal/written)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other basic software programs; a willingness to learn how to create posts on Wordpress websites
- Possible experience working with a CRM.
- A valid driver’s license and own vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage
