What are the responsibilities and job description for the Distillation Operator position at Cvista LLC?
We are looking for candidates ready to learn and be a part of our production team in various aspects of manufacturing including, but not limited to, distillation, drumming, blending, and ensuring all operations meet food safety standards.

Responsibilities:
- Follow all Food Safety policies and procedures provided by FSMS as it pertains to the Production Operator position.
- Analyze data outcomes to make critical process decisions.
- Adhere to all cGMP and safety requirements.
- Assist Lead Operator in daily operations and regular cleaning of production area.
- Ensure correct material is staged for the distillation.
- Assist in still operation (i.e. charging equipment, transferring material, drumming material, issuing/reporting material from the distillation run, and accurately labeling containers).
- Follow inventory organization methods.
- Blend material using blend formulation: ensure correct material is staged for the blend, issue material to blend/blending material, retrieve sample for QC analysis.
- Packaging material and reporting material out. Clean blend vessels/area and return material to warehouse.
- Compliance with GMP: Regular cleaning of production area and assist others as needed.
- Dispense WIP materials to drums and containers of various sizes, label, and store appropriately.
- Assist in Drumming.
- Updating and filing all necessary production documentation accurately and precisely.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Forklift experience.
- Have a working understanding of distilling process.
- Equipment Maintenance - Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
- Operation and Control - Control operations of equipment or systems; use of scan gun technology.
- Problem Sensitivity - Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
- Active Learning - Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
- Attentive Listening – Ability to carry out verbal instructions accurately and precisely.
- Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

- Mathematical Skills - Must be skilled in basic math and familiar with "unit" conversions.
- Broad knowledge of chemistry principles, desired.
- Broad knowledge of protocol to safely load and unload chemicals from various forms of transportation methods desired.
- Must be able to use logical thought processes and deductive reasoning. Must be able to evaluate and understand data for manufacturing product and process control.
Experience and Education:
High School Diploma (or GED) required.
Minimum 2 years manufacturing experience desired.
Distillation experience a plus.
Forklift certified a plus.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment: This position requires some exposure to outside weather conditions along with a wide range of temperatures and humid conditions; handling of certain hazardous chemicals; use of PPE as required; standing 50% of the day, ability to reach overhead, grasp, push/pull, climb stairs/ladder and lifting of 40 lbs.
