What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physician (Oncology) position at CVP (Customer Value Partners)?
CVP is seeking a Board Certified Physician of Oncology Services to provide support at the VA Medical Center in Buffalo, NY.

- Provides direct patient care as a consultant in outpatient clinics and/or inpatient wards and will participate in the Radiation Oncology Service on call schedule
- Participates in Radiation Oncology Service strategic planning,
- Participates in local administrative, management, quality assurance, and other assignments, meetings or committees
- Participates in regular peer review activities
- Must be alert to patient's condition and disorders
- Reactions on the part of the patient require immediate attention so harm does not come to the patient
- Maintains patient records and files
- Follows HIPAA guidelines regarding patient information
- Ensures timely completion of daily clinic notes with accurate documentation and coding of service rendered
- Practices radiation safety in order to reduce exposure to patients, staff, and self, in compliance with department and VA radiation safety procedures to maintain occupational exposures "as low as reasonable achievable" (ALARA)
- Provides patients with accurate and compassionate treatment
- Follows established safety practices and reports to Chief as promptly as possible to unsafe conditions, unsafe practices or any occupational illness or injury sustained
- Adheres to all safety and health standards, regulations, work practices and uses proper protective equipment as required
- Participates in quality assurance (QA) activities to include and provide data collection, data analysis, and trends and reports on changes based on data collection
- Degree Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
- Must be a Board Certified Oncologist
- Familiarity with latest standard of care concepts, practices, and procedures within oncology.
