Lab Utility

POSITION SUMMARY

Performs quality assurance and quality control testing on refinery stream samples and finished products and certifies that finished products meet the requirement for sale. All testing carried out in accordance with federal and state regulations, and industry and company quality standards. Maintains and repairs laboratory equipment as needed.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Must have at least a H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Associate degree in chemical technology preferred.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Thorough knowledge of chemistry field in order to analyze, interpret, and apply information preferred.
• Mathematical skills including percentage, ratios, averages, and medians to calculate and interpret data.
• Skill in managing and processing data for use by self or others using word processing, spreadsheets, or graphics software programs.
• Must be able to use office machines, such as computer, word processor, calculator, typewriter, FAX, and photocopier. Must be able to use specialized equipment to perform job duties.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service.
• Ability to accurately and professionally represent the Company's positions and interests in interactions with outside agencies and companies.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Ability to work rotating schedule
• Exposure to work near potentially volatile and combustible materials and chemicals

EXPECTED RESULTS

• Clear, concise communication of departmental information.
• Efficient and proper documentation and reporting of Lab Sample Results, activities and reports.
• Must be able to plan and schedule activities that would usually be completed within one week.
• Must be able to provide work guidance, technical assistance, or on-the-job training to other individuals within the work group.
• Must be able to follow operating guidelines, standard procedures, or written manuals.
• Lab Analyzers maintained in operable condition to meet testing requirements.
• Courteous customer service to internal and external customers
